In Art, Nightingales have been creating works of art using a range of techniques and media. We looked at the work of the artist George Seurat and his style, Pointillism, and used it as inspiration for our own printed works. Here are some of our finished pieces!

Nightingales, Wrens and Blackbirds all took part in a themed Science day based on the topic 'Food Glorious Food'. We explored the ways our bodies taste food when we eat it, and how our food is digested. We even got the chance to make our own sour sherbet and learnt about how the acid we add makes it so sour.

This term, we have been developing our D&T skills and have linked them to our topic, Food Glorious Food. Year 4 children were given a design brief and asked to create a healthy smoothie! First, we completed market research to evaluate existing products. We then used this to design our smoothie and its packaging. The final stage was to make our product and evaluate it. The results were delicious and healthy!

Middle Primary classes took part in a bread making workshop with the help of a visitor from Warburtons. After taste testing a range of different breads, children kneaded and shaped the dough into their own rolls. Here are some of ours.

Middle Primary produced some fantastic independent homework based on their topic. Children were asked to design a healthy food product or menu and use their knowledge of the food groups to explain why it was good for them. Here are some of our entries!

In March, Nightingale class visited York on an overnight residential visit. We visited the Castle Museum and the York Chocolate Story, as well as going on a spooky Ghost Walk at night time! Here are some photographs of our trip.
